Stifling Genius

Class Was very exciting today. 9:30 seems to come so fast that it gets hard to get everyone in their seats on time. Once we got things rolling we started off with our morning exercises ran by Meridian who Had Nadya give the opening prAyer.

She followed That with a Patriotic message and the flag Salute.

 We had 2 very awesome U.S Presidential reports. The fIrst one was by Matthew Behymer on George Washington. Did you know that he wrote over 4000 letterS in his lifetime. He was known as a peacemaker and was much taller then the average man.

We also heard from Kaden but he did his opening a little different we had to guess who his report was on. Who was the shortest president? weighed only 100 pounds? Who was the first presidential couple to serve Ice Cream in the white house? Ask your scholars to inform you theY will know. He served sOme ice Cream to end his project. The class went wild!

 We discUssed The types of government: Republic, Democracy, Aristocracy, OliGarchy, Tyranny & Dictatorship. We talked about what happens to people in good governments versus bad government. We discussed how leaders can influEnce and shape a nation. What kind of government creates an environment for Genius? I love having these discussions with your scholars. They are AMAZ-ING. I could tell thee was a little Halloween Hangover happeNing. :0)

We asked the scholars to bring in 10 captures from the book In the shadow of the Alamo. Those who finished the book and had the captUres had a treat to fill their tummies.

It was a great diScussion on the book. We split into groups and each group was assigned a character to find their traits, figure out if they were a good or bad person? and mostly what was their Genius.

We ran out of time for the timeline cards so here are the new ones for this week.
