Presentations Galore

What a week can you believe we only have 2 more weeks to meet with one another?

This week we ran out of time but got so much accomplished. We started with our patriotic quote from Preston. He shared his take on a modern day quote. It was interesting what did you guys think about it? leave a message below. :0)

We had a presidential report from Nadya on James Buchanan. She did a fabulous job! Thank you all for your hardwork on these reports. I have learned so much.

We then started our big day of Ivention/Inventor reports off with Lamoni on Nicoli Tesla. He invented the Tesla Coil. Did you know he went a little crazy at the end of his life?

Steve Jobs was presented by Nick Johnson. Do you know who WOZ was? Jobs was an entrepreneur and he never really invented anything on his own he was the marketing wizard.

Kensington presented Thomas Edison and had a remarkable visula set up and even showed how to not do an expiereent something Edison probably new very well. Her favorite quote shared was "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work" She left the class with some yummy treats.

H.B Reese is a name the class will never forget. He made the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. Meridian set the bar high for next weeks group of reports. She gave an excellent example on how to present an inventor and their invention. Good job!!! Her research sparked a desire to make her own PB cups and I must say those were better then the original.

 Ben Franklin was presented by Matthew Behymer. Lots of fun facts were shared. What a great inventor to present on.

We closed with very little time. Next week we have our final batch of reports for the year and hopefully will find the time to play our jeopardy game.

HOMEWORK:

• Study timeline cards next week it's gotta be done inunder 10 minutes PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!
• Finalize inventor reports for those presenting
• Watch the Mask of Zorro if you didn't make the movie night
• Read the Missouri compromise, document study it...define words that are unclear to you
• memorize all states in the US in 1860. see previous blog post
